There are numerous forums throughout the virtual community we call the Internet, where one can comment on a myriad of topics. Those who visit these forums, choose to be ‘pro’ or ‘con’ on various issues, stating their opinions based on belief, experience, or understanding of the topics. Others choose to be pros and cons on the issues, opining their comments where their agenda driven comments are vigorously stated and often even more vigorously debated, regardless of the degree of truthful content. I concede that positive or negative, agenda driven or simply an emotional opine, to express ourselves is a right due all of us. But to do so on a forum is a privilege, delegated by those who operate and manage the various forums around the WEB. Because we have found too many sites that simply serve a given commercial interest, or the misguided self-interest of individuals with opposing perspectives, we, the Equation Audio team, have decided to develop forums that serve a useful need. These forums would offer engineers and musicians an opportunity to share a favored application using products we make, but not just our products, ANY brand of product as long as it is a positive and useful application. Our primary interest may be the promotion of our Equation Audio brand products, but our intent includes the pursuit and accumulation of truthful and useful information and make it available to end-users at large. Our forums are intended to become valuable resources for anyone using headphones and microphones professionally or amateurs and hobbyists, information that will support the refinement and improvement of the crafts of music and sound. With that being said, here are a few simple guidelines to follow when visiting our forum:
We will not allow ‘links’ to direct advertising or promotion for any product or service. If we find that you are doing this, the links will be promptly removed and you will be warned. If it happens a second time, you will be banned permanently.
We will not allow anyone to simply blog on in a positive or negative manner about a specific product – the entry must be an application illustrating the effective use of a product used to record or perform, live music and sound.
We will allow ongoing exchanges related to any given application entry where alternate information may refine or correct earlier comments. Here within our forum community, we wish to elevate the crafts by the sharing of information that will motivate our industry to support these efforts. There are ample opportunities to slam a competitor, or us, justified or otherwise. To opine or vent your angers and frustrations, you will have to visit other sites. Thank you for spending time with us and contributing to our forum.
